Our Call to Care for God’s Creation

At Saint Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, we believe that caring for creation is an essential part of our faith. As followers of Christ, we are called to be good stewards of the earth, recognizing that all of creation is a gift from God. Our commitment to Creation Care reflects our desire to live in harmony with God’s world, protect the environment, and work toward a more just and sustainable future for all.

Theology of Creation Care

The Bible is filled with reminders of God’s love for creation and our responsibility to care for it:

  • Genesis 2:15 – "The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it."

  • Psalm 24:1 – "The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it."

  • Matthew 22:37-39 – Jesus calls us to love God and love our neighbors, which includes caring for the environment that sustains us all.

Our Episcopal tradition affirms that environmental justice, sustainability, and care for the natural world are deeply tied to our love of neighbor and our call to serve God.
